This year United Way will be joining forces with Walmart, Honor Credit Union, and our local law enforcement’s National Night Out event to get backpack supplies to kids in Berrien County. We will be collecting supplies from the community on May 17 and 18 at our local Benton Harbor Walmart and try to ‘Stuff a School Bus’ to provide supplies for about 500 backpacks that are being supplied by Honor Credit Union. We will distribute the packed backpacks during National Night Out in Benton Harbor on August 6. We need your help at Walmart collecting items, being a runner, and helping explain to customers what the event is. We will have a big school bus parked out front and with your help we will stuff it with the supplies kids need for a successful 2019/2020 school year!
