Meijer and United Way of Southwest Michigan present Operation Thanksgiving Saturday, November 17, 2018. We will be packing and distributing 'Thanksgiving To-Go' Kits. These kits will go to area families in need so they have everything they need to make and enjoy Thanksgiving Dinner with their families that following Thursday. Families in need will receive a kit with a Frozen Turkey or Precooked Ham, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, cranberry dressing, turkey gravy and more. We also will have some Christmas lights and other items to distribute.
We will serve both Berrien and Cass counties at this event. There will be two volunteer shifts at each location. The first will last from 9am to 11am. Volunteers will organize the stock and assemble the kits. The next shift will be from noon to approximately 2:30/3 pm. On this shift volunteers will set up the site and distribute the kits to families.
This event is part of National Family Volunteer Day! This day is an opportunity for our community to participate in this national day of service and to provide an impactful way for area families this year to give their time, together. We hope you will join us.
