Help homebound seniors and spread some extra joy this holiday season!
Volunteers are asked to pick-up care packages from Region IV Area Agency on Aging and help deliver them to homebound seniors in Berrien County.
Addresses for delivery will be provided at box pick-up times. Boxed items will be left on porches if recipients are not available to answer the door. These boxes include items that will come in handy during the winter months. Your donated time and generosity will bring cheer throughout the holiday.
This year, box pick up will be at Area Agency on Aging's main building, 2900 Lakeview Ave., St. Joseph:
8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Wednesday, Dec. 10
Thursday, Dec. 11
Friday, Dec. 12
Monday, Dec. 15
Tuesday, Dec. 16
Volunteers are then asked to deliver boxes to their designated homes within 10 days of pick-up. Deliveries can be made between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. to the convenience and schedule of volunteers. Volunteers will be provided homes in close proximity to support delivery.
Background checks will be required and completed by the RIV AAA prior to scheduled pick-up days. If you volunteered last year, your background check is good for three years, and you will not have to complete that this year.
For new volunteers, please complete the fillable Background Check Authorization form below, or download it and email it along with a photo of your ID to breannaboyd@areaagencyonaging.org.
