Who We Are

Mission: To equip our under-resourced neighbors in Benton Heights and the surrounding Berrien County, MI area through community engagement, resources and tools needed to move from scarcity, to stability, to success, while empowering each with the love of Jesus.

New Heights CCDA was incorporated as a non-profit 501(c)3 organization in 2017 to build on the work that First Church has been doing through its Benton Heights Campus since it opened in 2009. The various initiatives supported by New Heights CCDA are New Heights Auto Services, the Community Food Network, and the Laundry Hub.

We’ll continue to create programs and partnerships with organizations that address the gaps in meeting practical and social needs of underprivileged Berrien County residents. We support and champion our Benton Heights residents who are now engaged in programs and practices to holistically revive and restore the community. We do all we can to optimize available resources and facilitate positive relationships in the Benton Heights community. And we continue to address systemic issues that lead to a poverty of body, mind, and spirit.

What We Do

New Heights Auto Services:

New Heights Auto Services is a full-service auto repair business servicing the general public. Our social enterprise offers top-notch customer care for brake repair, mufflers, engine diagnostics, oil changes and so much more! Our cause-driven work supports the New Heights Auto Ministry, which provide access to transportation for financially constrained individuals trying to gain, maintain or increase their employment.

Community Food Network (CFN):

The Community Food Network is designed as a cooperative effort to foster relationships and combat food scarcity in dignified, choice-based grocery shopping experiences. We strive to empower a healthy community with both food and education to support well being. We believe good nutrition, friendships and consistent, stable relationships are important factors in both the physical and emotional health of our community.

Laundry Hub:

The Laundry Hub is now open with state-of-the-art laundry facilities and 800 square feet of “flex” space for partner agencies. While patrons wait for their laundry, they can often connect with vital community resources such as spiritual/emotional support, career development and job readiness services, sewing classes, prenatal parenthood support, computer assistance, legal guidance, health services and financial education.
