Mission: To promote better health outcomes, work to reduce health risks, and support stable and safe families in Michigan while encouraging self-sufficiency.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) administers dozens of programs to improve the health, safety and prosperity of state residents. MDHHS works hand-in-hand with hundreds of partners at the local and regional levels to provide these needed services. MDHHS assists children, families and vulnerable adults to be safe, stable and self-supporting.

We offer a number of programs to help individuals and families with temporary assistance when times are tough including child care, food assistance, and health care coverage.
