Who We Are
Mission: To provide and advocate for quality survivor-focused and trauma-informed services for individuals affected by domestic abuse, sexual violence, and human trafficking.
Domestic and Sexual Abuse Services (DASAS) has been a vital resource in Southwest Michigan for over 25 years, serving survivors and their families in Cass, St. Joseph, and Van Buren counties. Dedicated to ending domestic violence and sexual assault, DASAS promotes the empowerment of survivors through compassionate support, advocacy, and access to essential resources. By fostering dignity, respect, and self-determination, DASAS strives to enhance community responses to these issues and lead prevention efforts through education and outreach, particularly in schools and local communities.
What We Do
DASAS provides comprehensive services to both residential and non-residential survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Our offerings include a 24-hour crisis hotline, supportive counseling, weekly support groups, legal advocacy, and assistance with personal protection orders. Survivors gain access to critical resources such as clothing, emergency medical services, financial assistance, transportation, and referrals for safe, affordable housing.
For those in need of immediate safety, we offer a secure, no-cost 30-day emergency shelter with on-site staff available 24/7 to provide support and information. Additional services include parenting skills assistance, child advocacy, and education programs for children who have witnessed domestic violence. DASAS is dedicated to empowering survivors, ensuring their safety, and creating a community free from violence and abuse.
