Who We Are

Mission: To make information and forms more readily available to those who choose to represent themselves in court proceedings.

The Self-Help Legal Resource Center was opened in St. Joseph in April, 2009 and the Resource Center in Niles in September, 2012. Although legal advice cannot be given, the staff and the volunteers are pleased to assist patrons with the procedural steps involved in filing court documents.

What We Do

Work with the Berrien County Judges to help patrons complete paperwork to file for Divorce, Custody cases, Friend of the Court Child Support/Parenting Time Motions, Personal Protection Orders, Landlord Tenant, Small Claim, Probate Guardianships, Conservatorships, Name changes, Small Estates, Quit Claim Deeds, Criminal Expungement etc.
