Who We Are

Mission: To support children through a coordinated response to child abuse and neglect that includes prevention, assessment, and intervention.

The Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Michigan is a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency that assists in the investigation, treatment, awareness education, and prevention of child abuse in our community.

What We Do

Our highly-trained staff conduct developmentally appropriate, legally-sound forensic interviews of child abuse victims, and our therapists provide crisis counseling and on-going therapy to child victims and their non-offending family members. By bringing together all parties involved in an investigation – child protective services, law enforcement, the Prosecutor’s office, medical providers, and mental health services – the child tells their story one time, in one child-friendly facility. All services are provided at no cost to the child victim and family. With this approach, our agency reduces the trauma of child abuse investigations and compassionately meets the needs of child victims. We also provide school-based child abuse prevention education as well as adult focused child sexual abuse prevention training.
