SMCAA's involvement with the Benton Harbor water crisis, though much needed in the community, has placed the agency behind in packing our food commodity boxes. As the colder months are approaching and a larger push for food assistance is felt across Southwest Michigan, SMCAA is opening the warehouse to a limited number of volunteers to assist with packing commodity boxes to be used in our November and December CSFPs, TEFAPs, and Holiday Food Share Program.
SMCAA is seeking up to 10 individuals to come into the warehouse to pack during the weeks of November 8th and November 15th. Volunteers are asked to register for a shift from 10am-12pm or 1-3pm (or both!) on any given Monday through Thursday to pack food boxes. (Excluding November 11th as it is Veteran's Day.)
Additional questions may be directed to Ashley Slack at aslack@smcaa.com.
Teams are welcome to register.
