In partnership with the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE) and the Berrien County Health Department, SMCAA will be supplying drinking water to the residents of the City of Benton Harbor who have elevated levels of lead in their municipally-supplied water.
Initially, there are four days and times planned for this giveaway, and SMCAA is in need of volunteers to help load water bottle 24-packs into residents' vehicles:
Thursday, September 30 from 4:00 to 6:00pm
Monday, October 4 from 9:00am to 12:00pm
Wednesday, October 6 from 1:00 to 3:00pm
Thursday, October 7 from 4:00 to 6:00pm (You are signing up for THIS date/time.)
Further instructions will be provided at the event, but it will be conducted similar to the SMCAA food giveaways.
**Please be advised this is an outdoors event. Volunteers will need to be able to lift multiple 24-packs of water bottles throughout each shift.**
