As the colder months are approaching and the pandemic is not slowing, SMCAA is seeing a bigger and bigger need for food assistance to those in need across Southwest Michigan. With this increasing need and limited staff members in our warehouse, another need has arisen: our commodities are not being packed fast enough. SMCAA will be opening the warehouse to a limited number of volunteers to assist with packing commodity boxes to be used in our December CSFP, TEFAP, and Holiday Food Share Program.
SMCAA is seeking up to 7 individuals to come into the warehouse on Monday, November 30, 2020 to pack food boxes. Volunteers will begin at 9:00am and are welcome to work until 2:00pm, or until a time that meets their schedule. For those staying 9am to 2pm, lunch will be provided. (Teams are welcome to register.)
