Southwest Community Action Agency helps those in our community who need assistance. SMCAA advocates for struggling individuals, providing them with a variety of programs and opportunities.
Southwest Michigan Community Action Agency is hosting two family food distribution drive-thrus at their warehouse (331 Miller St, Benton Harbor) on Thursday April 2nd and April 9th. SMCAA anticipates assisting 300-500 in-need families PER DAY and need volunteers to assist. SMCAA has partnered with Feeding America to provide a Mobile Food Truck during the event.
SMCAA staff and volunteers will follow strict COVID-19 guidelines while interacting with these families. In light of the “Stay Home, Stay Safe” executive order, SMCAA can provide volunteers with a volunteer verification letter. Volunteers can bypass the line of client cars and can park down Miller Street (and be directed). Volunteers will meet outside the garage doors before the event.
