Show Me the Money Day is an annual statewide event that kicks off tax season. It is designed to promote financial capability for community members. The event is free and features a vendor café, workshops, food, games and prizes. In 2021, Show Me the Money Day events reached more than 2,100 Michigan residents. Nearly 80% of attendees were from low- to moderate-income households. Overall, 65% of surveyed participants reported feeling more hopeful about their financial future after attending Show Me the Money Day.
Our 2022 event is themed “Dollars & Sense” and will offer exciting workshops and information to help residents learn how to manage during these uncertain financial times. The event will take place on Saturday, May 21, 2022, from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. This year, we are excited to offer an in-person event and practice safe gathering guidelines.
This year Volunteers will be needed to man the registration desk, distribute food and prizes, setup/tear down, assist in the Vendor Cafe, and assist and direct participants throughout the event.
